ABOUT CHRISTOPHER BROTHERS
Founded in 1972 by John Christopher and his twin brother Frank, Christopher Brothers is a family-owned surveying firm with deep roots in Coweta County. Specializing in land surveying, land planning, and consulting services, Christopher Brothers has served Newnan, Coweta County, and the surrounding areas for over 48 years.
Co-Founder John Christopher served as the elected Coweta County Surveyor for 27 years until 2012, when his nephew, Chris Robertson became his successor to the office. As the current CEO of Christopher Brothers, Chris Robertson continues to serve as the elected Coweta County Surveyor while carrying on the family’s long lineage of providing quality surveying services to their clients. Christopher Brothers is experienced in all aspects of land surveying and possesses over 25,000 plats and countless other valuable documents accumulated over its long history of operation in Newnan.
A company with humble roots and three generations of land surveyors starting with T.Y. Mattox, who was Georgia Registered Land Surveyor #10, Christopher Brothers continues to be the “gold standard” of traditional land surveying in Georgia.
Founded in 1975 in Cobb County by Johnny Gaskins, Gaskins Surveying, Inc., is a Georgia firm specializing in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Planning Consulting, and Construction Management. Gaskins has four offices located in Marietta, Canton, Lawrenceville, and Newnan that allow them to serve communities in Metro Atlanta, as well as municipalities throughout Georgia and into neighboring southeastern states.
Building on its solid foundation, Johnny’s son, D. Brandon Hutchins, has grown the company to over 100 employees, including 22 Surveying Crews, 7 Registered Land Surveyors, 5 Professional Engineers, 2 Landscape Architects, 2 Arborists, and many more. Gaskins has completed thousands of projects for both private and public clients. In Cobb County alone, Gaskins has designed, surveyed, and platted over 600 subdivisions, including over 25,000 lots, more than 500 miles of roads and infrastructure, including waterline, sewer-line, and storm-water systems, covering over 10,000 acres.
For over 45 years, Gaskins has provided quality services and quality products to their clients and communities. As recognition for their commitment to relationships and service, Gaskins has been a recipient of The Cobb Chamber Small Business of the Year Award, and in 2018, was named one of Zweig’s “Best Firms to Work For.” Gaskins understands that long after the project is over, they will be remembered for their relationships and quality of service. Gaskins continually strives to meet Johnny Gaskin’s vision of “Being a model for which our industry is judged."
The merger of these family-owned companies brings over 90 years of combined surveying and engineering experience to our clients. Both companies have deep roots in their communities and bring a history of building relationships rather than transactions. Customers will continue to receive the same great service and family approach while having access to more resources and manpower. Now, with over 100 employees, including 22 surveying crews and 4 offices, we are even better equipped to serve and respond quickly to the needs of our clients. Combining the experience and resources of these two families, passed down from generation to generation, will further deepen our surveying roots locally and in the state of Georgia. When asked about the acquisition, CEO Brandon Hutchins commented, “It’s not every day that you find a leader in another company that you feel aligned with from a quality and service standpoint. After knowing Chris and the Christopher Brothers operations, I am excited about the synergy of our families and what we will accomplish together."
